Babies
Childcare for Babies (8 weeks to 2 years)
Our Babies Room provides a calm, safe and nurturing environment where infants feel secure, supported and valued. At this stage of development, strong relationships and responsive care are essential, which is why our educators prioritise building trusting connections with every child.
Through gentle routines and attentive interactions, babies begin developing confidence and a sense of belonging within their new learning environment. Each child is supported according to their individual needs, with feeding, rest and play routines designed to reflect the rhythm of their day.
Our environment encourages early exploration through sensory experiences, music, movement and outdoor play. Babies are introduced to natural materials, textures, sounds and movement-based activities that support their physical, cognitive and emotional development.
At Daisy’s, we believe even the youngest learners are capable explorers. With guidance from caring educators, babies begin discovering the world around them through play, connection and curiosity.
Learning Experiences
Throughout the day, babies participate in a range of experiences designed to support early development and discovery, including:
- Sensory play with textures, fabrics and natural materials

These experiences help develop coordination, curiosity, communication and early social skills in a safe and supportive environment.

- Emotional security and attachment
- Social awareness and early friendships
By creating an environment where babies feel safe and supported, we help them build the foundations for future learning.
Frequenty Asked Questions
What ages do you take in the Babies Room?
We welcome babies from 6 weeks of age through to 18 months in our Babies Room. When your child is ready, they’ll transition naturally into our Toddlers Room with familiar faces to ease the change.
Do children need to be vaccinated to attend?
Yes — children are required to meet the Australian Government’s immunisation requirements as part of enrolment. We can walk you through the documentation needed during the process.
What happens if my baby gets sick during the day?
If your baby shows signs of illness, we’ll contact you straight away and follow Department of Health guidelines on exclusion periods.
How do educators support babies settling in?
Educators build strong relationships with each child, offering comfort, consistency and reassurance as babies become familiar with their new environment.
Do babies spend time outdoors?
Yes. Outdoor play is a vital part of our program, giving babies the chance to enjoy fresh air, move their bodies and explore their senses in a safe, secure space. To keep everyone safe, we provide separate outdoor areas for each age group.
